Anodizing Titanium Crowns with color enhances their safety by crating a safe non-reactive oxide layer on the surface, which improves biocompatibility and resistance to corrosion, or tartar build up. If the anodized surface layer on the Titanium wears off over any amount of time, the Titanium itself retains it’s structural integrity and strength. The anodizing process enhances the surface for better corrosion resistance, but the underlying Titanium remains highly durable and stable. This means that, even without the anodized layer, the crown continues to perform effectively, ensuring long-term safety and functionality without compromising the structural strength, and qualities of the Titanium.
